What are your hours?

All pups checking in for Paw-Jama Party overnights must check in during the AM hours of 8-9:30AM. This gives your pup a chance to get some energy out, meet the other paw-jama party pups throughout the day, make friends and be ready to settle in for the night. Pick up times between 8AM-9:30AM and 3PM and 5:30PM.   Please schedule those times 24 hours in advance.

Do I need a reservation for my dog?

Yes, it is important since we only accept a small number of pre-screened dogs.

What is your reservation policy?

We ask that you book your overnight paw-jama party reservation well in advance, at least two months is recommended, especially during holidays and summer months when we fill up quickly. We want to be sure we have space for your dog!  50% payment is due at time of booking to hold a reservation.   Deposits are non-refundable if cancellations are made within 14 days of reservation. Dogs must be at least 8 months old and spayed/neutered.

How far in advance should I schedule a pickup for my dog?

Please schedule all drop off and pickup times at least 24 hours in advance.

Do I need to spay/neuter my dog?

Yes, all dogs 10 months or older, attending VT Barks and Recreation should be spayed/neutered for everyone's safety and enjoyment.

Do I need to vaccinate my dog?

Yes, we require all dogs to be up to date on their Rabies vaccination (valid from 1-3 years) DHPP (valid from 1-3 years). Bordetella (Kennel Cough) strongly encouraged as well as the Leptospirosis vaccine.

We also ask that you provide flea and tick prevention for your dog. All dogs are checked at intake and any dog presenting with parasites will be treated at owner’s expense. Please discuss the value of Lyme Disease Vaccinations, Leptospirosis and Heartworm prevention with your veterinarian.  Negative fecal results are required every 6 months

When do you offer VT Barks and Recreation services?

All year long! See our Services here.

I have a small dog.  Can he/she also enjoy VT Barks and Recreation?

Absolutely!  Dogs of all breeds and sizes are welcome at camp.

What areas do you serve?

We are located in Monkton, VT. Our pet parents come from near and far.

What is the cost?

Please see our Services & Pricing page.

What does my dog eat?

To prevent belly problems, you should send your pup’s own food.  Please pack enough of your dog's standard food to last the duration of the stay. We find that switching our client's food will result in an upset stomach. Send your pet's food in disposable, marked zip-lock bags or containers. If you forget, we will happily share our high quality dog food for $5/day/dog for dogs up to 40 lbs; $8/day/dog for dogs 40 lbs and up. We also ask that you send extra food for long term stays. We stay very active at camp and the dogs quickly burn calories. Please provide current feeding instructions.

How should we pack for Camp?

Food & medications please! Please send enough food for your pups’ duration of the stay.  Also pack some extra as we are out doing activities most of the day and your buddy will burn lots of calories. Please DO NOT send dog bowls.  We encourage you to pack something that smells like home, ie: a bed, blanket, unlaundered shirt, etc… This helps them settle in at night.

For a list, see our What to Bring section on the Services & Pricing page.

What if my dog is on medications?

We are happy to administer medications to your best friend.  PLEASE NOTE- make sure medications arrive clearly labeled with dog's name, dosage, and reason for administration.  This is for the SAFETY of your dog and so that we can keep an eye on your pooch's health and well-being!

Where does my dog sleep at night?

This depends on your dog’s comfort level and house manners. Some of our dogs will sleep on beds scattered throughout the Hound Lounge, others will sleep in cozy dens also scattered throughout the home.

What if my dog gets sick right before it is time to come to camp?

If your dog is sick with any communicable disease or parasites, he/she cannot come to camp for the safety and well-being of his/her playmates.
